Favourite Russian pastime is to visit their friends or relatives. At weekends when people from foreign countries go to the country from their towns or have picknics at the seaside, Russian people ( if it is not a summer) go to visit their friends and relatives.
In summer they usually visit their dachas. Relatives and friends can live at the other end of the city but it is not an obstacle for them.
Country people can walk a few kilometers to the next village for it (if they don't have a car). When people meet, they discuss cooking recipes, drink vodka and watch TV.
